A beautiful cottage in a tranquil location set in the heart of the Galloway countryside. This spacious yet cosy cottage features a log burner and comfortably accommodates up to eight adults/children. You can see, experience and learn about life on a working beef  farm or just relax in our self-catering accommodation, with spectacular views… the choice is yours.

Our holiday cottage is set in a lovely rural location close to Scotland’s most southerly point, surrounded by open farmland with grazing cattle and opportunities to see plenty of wildlife, including birds of prey hovering over nearby fields, it is situated close to a loch which is a habitat to lots of wildlife.  There are hundreds of ducks and birds which  live around the loch at different times of the year.  Ever year young cygnets hatch. You will surely want to explore this beautiful part of Scotland, where you will discover ample activities to fill your days. 



Nearby is the stunning Galloway House Estate where you can loose yourself in amazing walks through the woods leading to the tranquil and secluded Rigg Bay. 

The cottage  is 20 minutes from the Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park with three hundred square miles of wild beauty just waiting to be explored. The park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland, lochs and ancient woodland alongside a huge diversity of wildlife including red and roe deer, wild goats and many birds of prey. Here you can also enjoy walking, cycling, mountain biking (7 Stanes) or simply enjoy the breathtaking loch and mountain views.

The park has also been awarded the status of one of only four Dark Sky Parks in the western world, and when the sun sets enthusiasts come to wonder at the universe revealed above. Dalmellington at the far end of the park is home to the Scottish Dark Observatory, and for the outdoor enthusiast nearby Galloway offers hill walking, mountain biking and water-sports, with many renowned gardens and ancient woodland to explore with a chance to glimpse the abundant wildlife.

The area is steeped in history and the landscape diverse, a haven for birdwatchers and walkers. The Mull of Galloway, with its lighthouse and grass topped visitor centre, is Scotland’s most southerly point with amazing views of Ireland, England and the Isle of Man. 

Wigtown Bay Local Nature Reserve  has internationally recognised, significant numbers of pink-footed geese, greylag geese, many species of duck and wading birds, visiting in autumn and winter.

Golf, sailing, diving and numerous walks are available in the area and with its famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, Galloway is home to some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens.
