Scotland's Mobile Clay Pigeon Shooting Experts.

How We Got Our Start with outdoor Outdoor centre Scotland

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre began over 25 years ago as a specialist mobile service, born from the idea that high-quality country sports should be accessible at any venue, rather than tied to a single fixed location.

Origins and Evolution

  • The Concept: The business was established to solve the "location problem"—the idea that people often wanted to try activities like clay shooting but were deterred by the travel required to reach remote shooting grounds.

  • Mobile Innovation: From the start, the centre focused on building the infrastructure and expertise to "roll on the Scottish roads," bringing a full professional setup—including guns, cartridges, and coaches—to private land.

  • Licensing Milestone: A critical early step was securing the necessary consents and Police Scotland licenses to transport and operate shotguns on mobile sites, a specialized capability that remains one of their key differentiators.

  • Expanding the Roster: While it began with a focus on Clay Pigeon Shooting, the centre gradually expanded its repertoire over two decades to include Archery, Axe Throwing, and Highland Games, responding to the growing demand for multi-activity corporate and private events.

Growth into a National Provider

Today, the outdoor  centre scotland has grown from a local service into a national provider featured in major publications like The Times and The Scotsman. They have evolved from a simple mobile shooting outfit into a full-scale events company capable of managing large-scale "Clan" competitions and simulated game days at Scotland's most prestigious castles and estates.

Their commitment to this original vision was recently recognized with a nomination for the Countryside Alliance Scotland Award (the "Rural Oscars") for excellence in rural business.
