Alistair Brooke — Owner & Lead Instructor

Alistair Brooke is the owner and lead instructor at Scotland’s Outdoor Centre, with more than 30 years of experience delivering outdoor activities and mobile events throughout Scotland.

Alistair is a Scottish Clay Target Association (SCTA) qualified Safety Officer and Coach and is also a Registered Firearms Dealer (RFD).

With extensive experience in clay pigeon shooting and game shooting, Alistair has delivered shooting experiences for everyone from complete beginners and family groups to corporate clients, weddings and large-scale events involving thousands of guests.

A large part of his work involves taking clay pigeon shooting directly to castles, luxury hotels, private estates and exclusive-use properties throughout Scotland.

His approach combines professional safety management with friendly, individual instruction, helping first-time shooters feel comfortable and giving every guest the best possible opportunity to enjoy the experience and break their first clay.

About Scotland’s Outdoor Centre

Bringing Exceptional Outdoor Experiences Directly to You

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre is a specialist mobile outdoor activity provider delivering memorable country pursuits and traditional Scottish experiences at castles, hotels, private estates, exclusive-use properties, corporate venues and private events throughout Scotland.

Unlike a traditional outdoor centre where guests have to travel to us, we bring the experience to you.

Our team arrives with the equipment required to create and professionally manage your chosen activities at your venue, allowing guests to enjoy an authentic Scottish outdoor experience without having to leave the property.

Over 30 Years of Experience

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre was established by Alistair Brooke more than 25 years ago in South West Scotland.

Growing up and working in the Scottish countryside gave Alistair a lifelong connection with country sports, agriculture and outdoor activities. What began as a small outdoor activity business has developed into a highly experienced mobile operation working with venues and clients across Scotland.

Today, Scotland’s Outdoor Centre provides activities for everything from small private family groups to weddings, corporate events, incentive travel programmes and large events involving hundreds of guests.

Our experience means we understand that delivering an activity at a luxury hotel or private estate requires much more than simply turning up with the equipment.

Every event requires careful planning, preparation, transport, set-up, professional instruction, safety management and coordination with the venue.

We take care of this so that the experience is straightforward for both the organiser and their guests.

Mobile Clay Pigeon Shooting Specialists

Clay pigeon shooting is at the heart of Scotland’s Outdoor Centre.

We provide fully mobile clay pigeon shooting experiences, bringing the shotguns, cartridges, clays, traps, safety equipment and experienced instructors directly to suitable venues throughout Scotland.

Whether it is a small private shooting experience for guests staying at a Scottish castle or a large corporate event involving hundreds of participants, we can tailor the set-up and staffing to suit the occasion.

Our mobile operation allows hotels, castles and estates to offer their guests a genuine clay pigeon shooting experience within their own grounds, subject to the location being suitable for shooting.

More Than Clay Shooting

Alongside clay pigeon shooting, Scotland’s Outdoor Centre offers a growing collection of mobile outdoor experiences.

These include:

  • Simulated Game Shooting

  • Archery

  • Axe Throwing

  • Air Rifle Shooting

  • Traditional Highland Games

  • Team Challenges

  • Valais Blacknose Sheep Experiences

Activities can be booked individually or combined to create a bespoke outdoor experience for your group.

Our Highland Games are particularly popular for corporate events, weddings and international visitors and can include traditional and light-hearted challenges such as tossing the caber, farmer’s dash, welly wanging, tyre flip, tug of war and stag hoopla, often combined with archery and axe throwing.

Trusted by Castles, Hotels & Estates Across Scotland

Over the years we have developed relationships with a wide range of prestigious Scottish castles, hotels, estates and exclusive-use venues.

Because we regularly work at private and luxury properties, we understand the importance of arriving prepared, working professionally alongside venue staff and providing an experience that reflects the standard their guests expect.

We are equally comfortable working directly with private clients or alongside hotel teams, concierge departments, wedding planners, destination management companies and corporate event organisers.

If we have previously operated at your chosen venue, we will often already be familiar with its layout and activity areas. For new venues, we can liaise directly with the property to establish whether the proposed activity can be safely accommodated.

Professional, Experienced & Safety Focused

Safety and professional event management are central to everything we do.

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre has extensive experience in the operation of mobile shooting and outdoor activities, with appropriate equipment, procedures and experienced staff provided for each event.

For shooting events in particular, considerable preparation takes place before guests ever arrive. Equipment must be prepared and loaded, transported to the venue, safely set up and tested before the experience begins.

Staffing levels are determined according to the size and requirements of each event, allowing us to provide both professional instruction and appropriate safety supervision.

Private Experiences – Not a Public Activity Centre

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre is different from a conventional shooting ground or outdoor activity centre.

We specialise in private mobile experiences arranged specifically for your group.

This makes our service particularly suitable for:

Luxury hotel guests
Private castle and estate stays
Corporate and incentive groups
Weddings and pre-wedding activities
Family celebrations
International visitors to Scotland
Private parties and special occasions

From ten guests enjoying an afternoon of clay pigeon shooting at their hotel to a major corporate Highland Games involving hundreds of participants, the same attention is given to planning and delivering the event professionally.

Creating Memorable Scottish Experiences

For us, the experience is about much more than simply breaking a clay, hitting an archery target or tossing a caber.

It is about giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the Scottish countryside, learn something new, have some friendly competition and create memories from their time in Scotland.

Many of our guests have never held a shotgun, drawn a bow or taken part in Highland Games before. Our instructors make the activities welcoming and enjoyable for beginners while still providing plenty of challenge for those with previous experience.

We Bring the Experience to You

If you are staying at a castle, hotel or private estate, organising a wedding or corporate event, or looking to add outdoor activities to your venue, Scotland’s Outdoor Centre can create an experience around your requirements.

Tell us where you are, how many guests you have and the activities you are interested in, and we can advise on the most suitable options.
