From an intimate shooting experience for a family staying at a Scottish castle to corporate events and large private celebrations, our experienced team takes care of the entire operation.

We bring the shotguns, cartridges, clays, traps, safety equipment and professional instructors. We establish the shooting area, run the experience and remove the equipment afterwards.

Many of our guests have never held or fired a shotgun before. Our instructors provide a comprehensive safety briefing followed by individual guidance and encouragement throughout the session.

There is nothing quite like seeing a first-time shooter break their first clay.

A Genuine Scottish Country Pursuit

Clay pigeon shooting is one of Scotland’s great country pursuits and provides an unforgettable addition to a stay at a Scottish castle, country house or private estate.

Rather than travelling away from your accommodation to visit a conventional shooting ground, our mobile service allows guests to experience clay shooting within the surroundings of the property where they are staying, where the grounds are suitable.

It creates a very different experience.

Guests can step outside their hotel or castle and find a professionally prepared private shooting experience waiting for them.

For international visitors in particular, it is an opportunity to experience a traditional country pursuit as part of their time in Scotland.

Your Private 50-Shot Clay Shooting Experience

Our standard private clay pigeon shooting experience provides 50 shots per guest.

This gives participants considerably more than a short introductory taster and allows our instructors time to work individually with each guest.

We normally begin with easier targets while the instructor helps the participant with stance, gun mount, positioning and technique.

As confidence develops, different targets can be introduced to make the experience progressively more challenging.

For groups with mixed abilities, our instructors can adapt the experience so that complete beginners and more experienced shots can enjoy the session together.

50-shot clay pigeon shooting experiences start from £75 per person.

As a fully mobile service, minimum event charges may apply depending on group size, location, travelling requirements and the staffing required for the event.

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre has extensive experience providing mobile clay pigeon shooting at prestigious venues throughout Scotland.

Working at a luxury hotel, historic castle or private estate requires more than simply providing shooting equipment.

We understand the importance of careful planning, discretion, professional presentation, respect for the property and seamless coordination with the venue team.

Where we have previously worked at your chosen venue, we may already be familiar with the grounds and suitable activity areas.

For a new venue, we can liaise directly with the property to discuss requirements and assess whether an appropriate shooting area is available.

Safety & Professional Standards

Safety is fundamental to every shooting experience we provide.

Before guests arrive, considerable work takes place behind the scenes.

Our team prepares and loads the required equipment before travelling to the venue. On arrival, the shooting area is established, traps and equipment are positioned and the operation is prepared before the first guest steps onto the shooting stand.

All participants receive a safety briefing and remain under the supervision of our instructors while shooting.

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre is led by SCTA-qualified Safety Officer and Coach Alistair Brooke, who is also a Registered Firearms Dealer.

Staffing levels are determined by the number of participants, shooting layout and requirements of each individual event.

This professional approach allows guests to concentrate on enjoying the experience while our team manages the shooting operation.

Scotland’s Outdoor Centre holds a permanent, blanket Section 11(6) Police Exemption.

This means Police Scotland has already fully vetted our firearms, our automatic multi-trap arrays, and our qualified safety instructors. We don't apply for permission per event; we already carry it with us.

If you have the space, we have the immediate, legal right to turn it into an elite shooting ground.
